September 14 Prayer Requests
Tuesday, September 14th, 2004 by Dave MarttunenEach day Donna and I are feeling more settled in Johannesburg. We are grateful to all of you for your prayers, notes, emails; words of encouragement. As the initial shock of leaving family and all things familiar behind us, wears off, and as we continue to make this place our home, we are sensing an overwhelming privilege to be part of God’s plan for FEBinternational in Southern Africa. Knowing that many are praying for us has been a constant source of encouragement for us.
Join us in giving thanks for;
- Good connections within the Baptist Union of South Africa as well as good contacts with other agencies.
- A growing sense of being settled in our “flat” and area of the city.
- A small prayer group that Dave now meets with on Wednesdays.
- A prayer partner who meets with Donna on Wednesdays.
- Answers to prayer that include. Donna’s back doing better, some furnishings for the flat, more contacts to follow-up
Join us in asking the Lord for;
- A reliable second hand car
- Connections in Durban and Cape Town.
- Preparation for Pakistan (November 9-December 4), including speaking at our mission’s conference, meeting with missionaries (our own and other groups), teaching at the Christian school, providing support to families in the school (the school has just reopened following a terrorist attack 2002 in which several nationals were gunned down.
- Need for visas, and flights.
- Developing code of best practice for Member Care in our Mission.
- Exploring opportunities in countries neighboring South Africa.
We are so grateful to have your support in this effort, apart from your faithfulness as our team we could not attempt this work for the glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
